While I love all my clients, there are certain sessions that really speak to your heart, like Kristy and David's engagement session in Madison, WI.
Kristy has been a part of my and Nick's lives for nearly 20 years, and is one of my best friends still to this day. The moment she introduced us to David some years ago, we were hooked. They balance each other out perfectly, and we couldn't be happier for their upcoming wedding! When Kristy asked if we would shoot their engagement photos, of COURSE we said yes!
Madison was the perfect background for their photos, for more than a few reasons. David is an alumni of UWMadison, and Kristy also attended MATC. They both have a love for this city, and, with it's beautiful buildings, fantastic farmers market, and restaurants/nightlife, who wouldn't?!
After our initial date was rescheduled due to some sweltering hot & humid weather (frizzy hair and sweating in your photos? No thank you!), we chose the first weekend in October, hoping and praying for more compliant temperatures. The morning was a bit iffy with rain here and there, but those clouds held off as soon as we walked out of their hotel, (which had some AMAZING views), towards the Capitol.
To say that I was emotional about this session would be an understatement.
How often do people actually stay friends with one of their best friends from high school (who was also friends with your husband since MIDDLE SCHOOL), get asked to be their Matron of Honor, AND serve as their engagement photographer?!
I can't handle this.
I'm not one who cries, but if true love doesn't make you tear up at least a little bit, we need to get you over to Oz for a heart, friend.
We spent the rest of the evening hitting up various hot spots in and around Madison, but our favorites had to be when we stopped to do a bit of dancing on a trail. Nick was a huge help here, pulling up random old songs on his phone. Between the laughs, whispers, and kisses that David kept trying to steal, we captured some truly amazing photos!
Kristy & David, we love you dearly, and wish you nothing less than a lifetime of happiness! We are so, SO happy that you found each other, and are blessed to have the both of you in our lives. It was a pleasure shooting these photos for you, truly.
