My goodness, it's been quite a while since I've blogged! I told myself I'd keep this going on a weekly basis... 2017 was going to be *the* year I'd keep myself on task, and conquer my constant, ever present issue of being distracted!
Well... there's always February, right?!
Enough about me though! Let's talk about this engagement session...
I've known Phil for almost two decades. My childhood best friend lived right up the road from him, and he and my brother became good friends over the last 10 years. The moment I met his now-fiance Dana at a summer bbq, I could see that she was absolutely perfect for Phil. You could just feel the love they have for each other by their words, and looks, and by how relaxed they were together. They balance each other out so perfectly, and are an incredibly laid back, easy going couple.
They required little if any direction throughout their engagement session, and were completely natural and comfortable being close... though I'm sure the freezing cold weather played a part!
Dana and I had been anxiously watching the weather forecast for weeks, hoping for a snow filled day to shoot their session. The original date we chose was preceded by a minor warm front, leaving us with nothing but sloppy, wet, muddy ground, and no snow to be seen. As soon as we had a fresh layer of snow, we snagged the first date that worked for us and ran with it! No flurries were expected, but we'd make do, right?! Wrong! Apparently flurries were simply meant to happen, and I am so, SO glad they did.
Their photos were both breathtaking and magical. These two were even brave enough to venture out on a frozen lake (totally their own idea!) so we could get the *perfect* shot... I'd say it was worth the risk, wouldn't you? Now, we can't look at these images without talking about that dress... I mean... WOW!
Dana looked absolutely stunning, and didn't complain once about the cold (she's a stonger woman than I am!). I cannot wait to be a part of their big day in 2018 - Congratulations Phil & Dana!
